Research
The aim of the study was to identify key information gaps from the patient’s perspective and to perform a Competitive Analysis which examined User Experience, Interface Design and the Utility of Information found on cancer charity websites.

This mixed method study explored the main unmet information needs using qualitative and quantitative methods. Data was collected from 10 semi-structured interviews and two workshops. Pragmatic and Participatory Action Research approaches were used with Design Thinking tools to espouse Patient and Publication Involvement and Engagement.

Key Themes were identified through Thematic Analysis. The Competitive Benchmarking Usability Tests highlighted how the information gaps are influenced by poor understanding of patient mental models.
